The Hawks’ bench made a substantial impact, contributing 16 points to the cause.

Casey, on the other hand, struggled to maintain possession, with turnovers proving costly. Despite the loss, Alexandra Wittinger put up a valiant effort, delivering a powerhouse double-double with 29 points and 13 rebounds, showcasing her dominance in the paint. Sharne Robati also notched a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Lauryn Hippolite chipped in with 15 points. The Cavaliers’ shooting from the field was decent at 48.4 percent, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Hawks’ relentless pressure.

The Hawks soared with a well-rounded offensive strategy, finding their rhythm and capitalizing on their chances inside the paint, where they scored a hefty 46 points. Jonathan Lawton was the star of the show, dropping a game-high 28 points and snatching five steals, while Braelen Bridges contributed a solid 14 points and six rebounds. The team’s ball movement was exemplary, as evidenced by their 20 assists, and they made their presence felt on defense with 10 steals, disrupting the Cavaliers’ flow.

Casey, despite the narrow loss, had plenty to be proud of. Devin Watson put on a scoring clinic with 29 points, and Preston Bungei notched an impressive double-double with 18 points and 12 boards. The Cavaliers showed great hustle, especially in the paint where they racked up 44 points, and their bench added a valuable 20 points to keep the game competitive.
