McVeigh: The Game Changer
In his own words, McVeigh recollected the game-changing moment, “To be honest, I’ve got almost absolutely no idea what happened … I thought they (United) were going to call a time-out, but they didn’t have one. All of a sudden I was chucking the ball.”
The next thing he knew, he was being mobbed by his teammates, in a state of euphoric confusion. “Next thing you know I was getting tackled by the team, so absolutely no idea what happened … I blacked out.”
