Published on

In a nail-biting showdown at South Pine – Court 2 on Thursday night, New South Wales Country edged out Queensland North with a close score of 70-67.

New South Wales Country showcased a resilient performance, led by the dynamic duo of J. Crook and K. McCowan, who both tallied 17 points each. Crook dominated the boards with 14 rebounds, contributing significantly to the team’s victory. The team’s strategy to leverage strong inside play and rebounding proved pivotal, especially in the crucial final minutes where they maintained their lead against a tough Queensland North side.

Queensland North, despite the loss, saw an impressive outing from T. Bond, who scored a game-high 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds. A. Francis also added 13 points and eight rebounds, but the team struggled with shooting efficiency, which ultimately hampered their ability to take control late in the game.

NEW SOUTH WALES COUNTRY 70 (Crook 17, McCowan 17, Morrison 13).
QUEENSLAND NORTH 67 (Bond 24, Francis 13, Jensen 11).
